SPECIAL EDUCATION
I graduated from Levelland High School in 1988 with Honors. I have an Associate degree in Science from South Plains College. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon University in December of 2017 with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
I am certified to teach general education PK-6 and Special Education PK-12 in the state of Texas.
I am an Inclusion/Resource Special Education teacher. I love helping students with learning challenges, but I fully enjoy working with all students when I go into the classroom with general education teachers. This is my first year with Oak Grove Elementary.
My teaching experience is unique, in that I home-schooled my five children for 17 years before I became a certified teacher. Four of my children are grown, and my youngest goes to Brownfield Middle School. My grown children have all gone to college. Two have Associate degrees in Science. My fourth child is a senior Honor student at Lubbock Christian University, where he is working on his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I have taught at Levelland High School in a Life Skills classroom. I have also been a substitute teacher and a teacher’s aide.
I sing with The Singing Women of West Texas, a Christian choir. I also enjoy crocheting, reading, and watching movies. I love studying the Bible, and spending time with my family. My family at home consists of my husband, my last child, and three dogs.
