Students needs athletic shoes for PE every day!
Please ensure that your child is reading nightly for at least 20 minutes.
This could be silent reading, reading with a partner or even being read
to – however your family chooses to do it – just READ! You can even
turn on the closed captioning on your TV during a program that your child is watching!!
The Skyward call out system is used to remind you
of major events. If you would like to receive text
from this system, you have to login to Family
Access and go to the Skylert section and add a phone
number under the text message area. Once you
add your phone number you will receive an option
in text messages that you need to reply “Y” for
“Yes” to in order to start receiving SMS messages.
To get to Family Access- go to the BISD homepage
and click on Public and then click on Skyward
Family and Student Access. If you any trouble
logging in please call the office.
Please ensure that you do not send anything to school for lunch or parties
that contains nuts. Please remember you need your ID to:
check out your child and to visit anywhere in the building.
If you have an address change or a phone number change
– please let the office know.

Your child must attend at least 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for the grade level.
If your child is absent, please phone the front office by 8:15 AM. The number is 806-637-6455.
If you take your child to the Doctor, please bring the Doctor note to the office in order to get the
absence excused. Please make every attempt to have your child at school every day – on time.
3 tardies will constitute an absence. We do send out attendance letters after the 5th absence
has occurred as a reminder. If your child exceeds the 10% rule, truancy proceedings will begin.
Our building opens at 7:30 AM and tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM. Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 AM.

If you need to pick up your child before the end of the day, please allow yourself an extra 5-10 minutes for us to get the student our of class. We WILL NOT pull students our of class ahead of time in order to maximize insturctional minutes. Please do not call ahead to the school and request that your child be waiting in the office.
OG Tardy Policy
We encourage all of our students to be at school on time to ensure that all instructional time is utilized to meet our students’ educational needs. Students who arrive after the 8:00 bell will sign in at the office and be counted tardy.
